The title of our exhibition means really what is says. I met Beniti Cornelis in 1970. He was a painter and for more than 40 years my husband until his dead in 2017. Beniti’s idea was to grasp what has taken place to comprehend past actions. That is why for him our visual preconceived idea was just an onset and titles became unnecessary.
For me the result of accumulating images, impressions, sounds, smells, and feelings ended in jewelry. Conscious and unconscious feeling, memories, desires … I am aware of the special influence subconscious has on our daily life. It drives us more than we even realize. We have to deal with what we know and feel … Traces.
